Title: Arch Clement

Description: Arch Clement (Archie Clements, Little Arch, 1845-1866), Confederate guerrilla leader during the American Civil War, who cold-bloodedly murdered dozens of Union citizens and captured soldiers, while serving as a lieutenant of William "Bloody Bill" Anderson, particularly at the Centralia, Missouri massacre in 1864; following the war, Clements continued to attack Union forces, but chiefly turned to banditry, reportedly committing the first daytime bank robbery by robbing the Clay County Savings Association in Liberty, Missouri, on February 13, 1866, in the company of Frank James, brother of Jesse James, and Cole Younger, both of whom later becoming members of the James-Younger outlaw band; Clement was killed on December 13, 1866 by Union militia in Lexington, Missouri.
