Title: Alfred de Marigny

Description: Alfred de Marigny (1910-1998), accused in 1943 of murdering his father-in-law, Sir Harry Oakes (1874-1943), American-born British gold mine owner and the wealthiest man in the Bahamas, who, on July 8, 1943, was found in his mansion in Nassau; Marigny was brought to trial but acquitted when the court discovered that evidence provided by private detectives had been most likely manufactured; he was nevertheless deported from the Bahamas as an undesirable alien, moving to Cuba, with his wife, Nancy, one of Harry Oakes' children; the Oakes slaying was never solved.
