Title: Alexander Kerensky (1881-1970)

Description: Russian politician and Prime Minister of the Russian Provisional Government, Alexander Kerensky (Alexander Fyodorovich Kerensky; May 4 1881-June 11, 1970), who briefly held power during the first Russian Revolution of March 1917 as the Second Prime Minister of Russia of the Russian Provisional Government, but who was deposed by the Bolsheviks in the second Russian Revolution of October 1917, which repudiated Kerensky’s policy of continuing to fight WWI on the side of the Allies. Kerensky actually armed the Petrograd workers who went over to the Bolsheviks in the October 1917 Russian Revolution and these very workers dismantled the Kerensky regime within twenty hours. Kerensky fled to France, living in exile in Paris, until fleeing to the U.S. in 1940 following the German invasion of that country. He later taught at the Hoover Institute at Stanford University, never returning to Russia.
