Title: The 39 Steps (1935)

Description: Scene with Lucie Mannheim (April 30, 1899-July 18, 1976), left, and Robert Donat (Friedrich Robert Donath; March 18, 1905-June 9, 1958), in The 39 Steps (1935 U.K. film), directed by Alfred Hitchcock (Alfred Joseph Hitchcock; August 13, 1899-April 29, 1980). Mannheim is a secret agent later found dead in Donat's London apartment. Donat is wrongly accused of murdering Mannheim and goes on the run, from England to Scotland, many times narrowly escaping death by pursuing foreign agents while, at the same time, hunted by the law. He nevertheless uniquely exposes the spy network and ends up with a beautiful girl. This tense spy film, made in England, was one of Hitchcock's first big international hits that established him as a master of suspense films.
