Title: The 39 Steps (1935)

Description: Frank Cellier (February 23, 1884-September 27, 1948), left, and Robert Donat (Friedrich Robert Donath; March 18, 1905-June 9, 1958), right, in the 1935 film The 39 Steps, directed by Alfred Hitchcock (Alfred Joseph Hitchcock; August 13, 1899-April 29, 1980). Donat is wrongly accused of murdering a foreign spy and is on the run, trapped in this scene by a local sheriff in Scotland (Cellier), but he manages to escape and expose a spy network. This tense spy film, made in England, was one of Hitchcock's first big international hits that established him as a master of suspense films.
