Title: Alma Reville and Alfred Hitchcock, 1926

Description: Alma Reville (Alma Lucy Reville; August 14, 1899-July 6, 1982) and Alfred Hitchcock (August 13, 1899-April 29, 1980) shown in late 1926. Reville was an assistant director and film editor working at the same British studio (Gainesborough Pictures) where Hitchcock worked as a novice film director, making his first significant film, The Lodger, a silent film loosely based on Jack the Ripper, in 1926. Both were married that year on December 2, 1926. The union produced one child, Patricia (Patricia "Pat" Hitchcock O'Connell; July 7, 1928- ). Reville would be the one person Hitchcock relied upon for important script changes, errors in continuity and inventive film editing, as well as almost all other elements involving his films throughout his career. He found her judgment impeccable and was grateful for her unerring eye to detail.
